Assistant Manager and Bar Tender wanted for Quality Local. (SW19 South Wimbledon Colliers Wood)
The Nelson is a small upmarket local with a great atmosphere and fantastic mix of customers. We are looking to recruit for two vacancies Assistant Manager and Bar Tender both of whom should have a real passion for the pub trade and be committed to delivering first class customer service. The successful candidates will be full of fresh ideas and be prepared to work hard to help grow the business. Both are all encompassing roles and you will be expected to be involved with all areas of the business and the Assistant Manager will be required to deputise for the Manager in their absence. Asst Manager Role Requirements You should have a minimum of three years experience in the trade with at least one years experience in a supervisory managerial role (preferably working for an independent pub bar) You should be a confident decision-maker with excellent organisational ability and a can do attitude Along with extensive knowledge of both drinks and food service you should have good communication skills to help you liaise effectively with customers and the team you work alongside You should be able to supervise across all areas of the pub (recruitment training stock management cash handling marketing maintenance etc) and be willing and able to cover in any area of the pub (including the kitchen) when necessary You will be financially aware and able to demonstrate your understanding of sales and profit within the pub You must have fluent English and be able to work in the UK indefinitely without restriction. You must be aware of Health and Safety Legislation Holder of Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (desirable) Holder of a Personal License (desirable) Cellar management with Real Ales would be an advantage This is a live-out role and the salary is negotiable dependant on skill and experience. There is also scope to develop a bonus scheme. Bar Tender (live-out) Role Requirements You should have a minimum of one years experience in the trade (preferably working for an independent pub bar) You should be confident and pro-active with a can do attitude You should have an approachable personality and thrive on delivering great customer service You should be willing and able to cover in any area of the pub (including the kitchen maintenance etc) when necessary You must have fluent English and be able to work in the UK indefinitely without restriction.
